A widowed woman in the United Kingdom fell victim to a scam involving a fake, AI-generated version of Jason Momoa. She lost her home in the process.
The unidentified victim had joined an online fan page for the actor after her husband passed away. The couple had been married for 50 years.

The widow said she was shocked when she received a message from someone she believed to be Jason Momoa himself.
She received AI-generated videos claiming that she and the “Aquaman” actor were meant to be together, shortly after Momoa’s divorce from actress Lisa Bonet in 2024.

It was then that the scammer began sending the widow messages asking for money. The texts claimed that Momoa was tied up with film projects and needed funds to build a house for the two of them in Hawaii.
The victim sold her home in Cambridgeshire to raise the money, but immediately after transferring the funds she lost all contact with the scammer.
Cambridgeshire Police stated: “It may sound far-fetched, but this is a true story that has left a vulnerable woman without a home.”
